Sauté onions untill golden brown. |

Add red chilli, tomato, garam masala, cardomom, garlic paste. Simmer for few minutes. |

Add kidney beans and salt. In case of soaked kidney beans, simmer on medium-low heat with 1 cup of water for 30 minutes or more. Add more water in necessary. In case of canned beans, simmer in low heat with 1/4 cup water for for 5-8 minutes. |

Serve warm with basmati rice. |
