Rice Flour (Chawal Ka Atta)

Rice Flour (Chawal Ka Atta)

 Description

Rice flour is made from grinding rice in the same manner wheat flour is made from grinding the wheat. Rice flour does not have gluten like in wheat, rye, and barley. Thus rice flour is not suited for baking. It is commonly used in Indian cooking for flat bread such as appams or for thickening the sauce. Rice flour is not as popular as atta or maida but readily available in Indian grocery stores or can ne made by grinding dry basmati rice in a food processor.
